To ask how much screen time you use a day?

and how happy you are?

I’ve suffered with anxiety for many years but the last year I’ve had depression which has left me feeling up and down, lack of enjoyment and lack of self care.

i feel like I don’t have the time but I also saw on my phone that on average I have 7 hours of screen time a day, I have to say I’m really surprised by that, I can’t help but feel if I used some of that time for self care, exercise, anything I enjoy really, maybe I’d feel better. I felt like maybe I’m on it an hour a day combined so I’m pretty surprised. I’m tempted to set myself a no phone challenge / less screen time.

What is your average screen time and does it affect your overall all wellbeing? What would be reasonable 1-2 hours combined?!

Outside of work (on screen) and about 90 minutes of TV, I clock about an hour a day. My SM use is less than 15 min a day (FB, IG etc). Once I get off work laptop, I take a dog out, go to the gym, do about an hour of reading, dinner and that leaves me with 2h between 8pm and 10pm for screen time.

Mine is really bad, 10 hours last time I checked. But I do have all my work apps on my phone and I think it includes things like having Strava/Music on when I'm running in the mornings.

The kids aren’t allowed any (too young)

Work aside (use a computer for work) I probably average 90mins (tv show plus messages etc.

God, easily 10 hours a day.

I'm autistic though and screens really help me to regulate.

Too much - I wfh and pretty much always on my phone

Mine is about 2 hours a day.

That includes use it for school (registers, info etc...) Duolingo, music practice (for a backing track).

I find mindless scrolling leaves me feeling lethargic so I tend to leave my phone upstairs in the evenings!

On a good week, 2 hours and that’s mostly long form content on YouTube. On a bad week 4-6 hours, and as I don’t have any of the usual social media I will find somewhere (like mumsnet) to scroll. But my bad weeks are usually just that, a week, and it’s when my mental health takes a little dip and I don’t seem to have the capacity to do things I enjoy.

But I know it doesn’t help long term, and I am happier and more productive with less screen time.
