Was it Love Links? A story about love usually read out by the radio presenter with melancholy music playing.

I think you're getting it muddled with Late Night Love, which I thought was regional too! It was always on in the taxi on the way home from a night out.

Yes, it was repeated in the early hours. Originally on at roughly 10.30 am live, IIRC, but also on again late at night - DH and I once caught it coming home from the airport after a late flight. I loved Our Tune. Once, probably 20 years ago, one of DH’s work colleagues was featured on it, which was fun listening (it was an arduous story, but one with a rewarding and happy ending).

Radio one used to have something like this on a Sunday evening I think there'd be a soppy or tragic story explaining why the song was special then they'd play the song
