I went into Boots to weigh today and weighed

13st 4. I’m 5 ft 1.

I posted because I’m really serious about this now - really want it to work.

Shout out to literally ANYONE else embarking on this project - if you want to join me - it’s SOOOOOOO hard!

Well done for the first step. Day one is the hardest. My day one was 9th September 2024 - well it was about then tenth “day one” over the last decade or so…but here I am now mid Feb having lost over 30lbs and feeling much better for it! Similar starting weight to you. Into better habits and routine, the key is finding an exercise schedule you enjoy and will stick to. Also try try try to cut those nightly binges. You’ll feel better in the morning for it. What is your diet and exercise like previously and what’s the plan? Good luck!

I read something interesting a couple of days ago that might help you. A behaviour "expert" (I think I saw it on YouTube somewhere, I'll try to find it for you) claimed that most diets fail because we expect them to. If you go into it hoping you'll manage this time around but secretly thinking you're probably going to fail then you'll fail.

It is not a diet. It is not for now. It is a lifestyle change that you are going to adopt forever. The more you tell yourself that (and believe it) the more likely you are to succeed.

My eating and exercise habits were bad before I’m afraid - a lot of starting afresh then binging

but now I’ve weighed and documented it - I must stick to it !!

I've just started 5:2, OP. Did it with some success years ago before falling off wagon. Diet day today, in fact. I'm 5 ft 2 and have long given up standing on scales cos I know I'll be shocked by the reading. 😬

Best of luck with yours.
