Do I go to walk in/a&e?

I've got a throat infection of some sort - it has absolutely floored me I've mostly been in bed since Tuesday last week. I got antibiotics from the doctor on Friday because my throat was covered in white (I have no tonsils but feels the same as bad tonsillitis which I used to get often until I had them out 15 years ago)
My temperature has not gone down the whole time even with taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, it's consistently been around high 38 and today is 39.4. This morning I've woken up with a rash covering my entire body but not my face. What do I do?

Hopefully you will get your call back soon

This was me last year and I ended up in hospital for a fortnight. Worth following up with your gp at least or 111, I did 111, then gp then I got admitted by gp

I also had a rash and antibiotics that didn't work. I'm still Ill from it nearly 7 months later.

Definitely follow up and push through for emergency help. I nearly died, was viral infection but never found a cause or a cure.

To all saying it's not an accident or an emergency. 111 sent me to a&e, in fact they tried to send me an ambulance which I declined, for the same thing. Started antibiotics for tonsillitis, 24 hours later high temps, worsening of throat symptoms, aching all over. The 111 medic said it was either sepsis or a reaction to the antibiotics and I needed seen. I ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics and IV fluids with complications from the tonsillitis. Only you know how poorly you are op.

Oh wow
maybe ring 111 - stand corrected

op has no tonsils tbf
she is expecting a call back however

If you have come out in a rash after starting antibiotics then stop the antibiotics, don't take any more doses. You may be allergic to the antibiotic, but if it was amoxicillin then I would also think about Epstein Barr virus as the cause of your sore throat and fever. There is a specific reaction to amoxicillin with EBV (causes glandular fever) which is not a true allergy, and worth being aware of as you don't want to be labelled as having a penicillin allergy when you don't.
It might also just be part of the illness - plenty of viral causes of sore throat, and group A strep (the cause of scarlet fever) can cause a rash as well.
However, safest to stop antibiotics and if you are still unwell call 111

I'm sorry to read this. I will definitely keep checking on myself and make sure I don't get fobbed off, my husband is taking good care of me too.

111 doc called me and said from everything I've said it sounds like scarlet fever and to just keep taking the antibiotics I've got and call 111 back if it gets any worse or I'm not better by the end of the course 🤷‍♀️ so just keep waiting and see basically.

I hope it starts to clear up. I found that after 2 types of antibiotics I was getting worse I couldn't have waited the full course so hopefully you start to see some improvement so if not you'll know your body.
