To think that the smartphone has ruined tourism?

Before the advent of smartphones, you had a limited number of available shots on your camera. But now, people just photograph everything, without taking a beat of time to LOOK at what they are taking a picture of.
Why do they do that? They must end up with loads of boring photos, and no memories of what they have seen.
And, as a fellow tourist, you end up constantly getting in the way.(not that I care).
(this is after visiting Westminster Abbey yesterday).

Not me. At all. I have a really non-visual memory but looking at a photograph can bring things back for me. I've always been that way, way before the invention of the smartphone.

I don't see how it's anyone's business how other people choose to interact with things on THEIR holiday, unless you're actively getting in the way which yes, Santorini was a hellhole for.

And yes I want photos of myself on holiday, so sue me. I'll take a bloody selfie and not bother some poor soul to come and take a picture of me.
