Reverse Botox - to 'prove' you haven't had Botox?!

Noticed this a few times - even on Daisy May Cooper AIBU Series (which I'm a late viewer to and enjoy MN references e.g 'Looks like a Thumb') - they have Klingon style Forehead i.e 3 to 4 symmetrical creases as if to prove they haven't had Botox - looks weird and laughing at reverse psychology!! what happened?

Eh? Woman looks normal isn’t news.

No. But maybe OP as a technophobe hasn't realised HD means we can see the wrinkles now.

Beautiful dahling 😘

I think that OP is trying to say that people (actors in this example) go from an extreme to another, and both are equally inmature. E.g. first doing botox to hide aging and going to extremes with that, and once bottox is "mainstream", they go all the other way to emphasize that they don't do botox, as in being morally superior.
I don't know, that's my interpretation of the op. But I have absolutely no idea who the Daisy lady is. And I personally feel repulsed by botox.

And I personally feel repulsed by botox.

You feel repulsed by a person having a cosmetic treatment that doesn’t affect you? What a strange reaction to have! @NameChangedOfc

FreebieWallopFridge · 09/02/2025 18:16

Wtf is reverse Botox?! Nothing about this makes any sense whatsoever

Do you know how to read? I am repulsed by botox (botulinum toxin). Where do I talk about the people injecting it? Are you projecting maybe?

BurntBroccoli · 09/02/2025 18:24

Maybe they all have muscle weakness from too many years of getting Botox and the skin gets thinner and floppier so more noticeable?

ThePoshUns · 09/02/2025 18:32

I'm going to start telling people they I've had reverse Botox and that's why I have so many wrinkles on my forehead!

Haha me too. I'm liking that I'm apparently in trend now. Similar to when big eyebrows made a comeback and I was glad I had always been too lazy to over pluck them in my youth.

keiratwiceknightly · 09/02/2025 18:50

Is it possible that the comedian Daisy May Cooper was making a joke about a decision not to have Botox anymore, and calling it "reverse Botox" as a joke?

InWithThePlums · 09/02/2025 18:53

DMC on Woman’s Hour said that she had tried Botox in the past but found it made acting harder so doesn’t anymore.

Newfoundzestforlife · 09/02/2025 19:11

Perhaps you should just mind your own business and not worry about what other women do with their own bodies.

Ah got it. Sorry @NameChangedOfc. What other neurotoxic proteins upset you out of interest?

also, does it upset when it’s used in the treatment of migraines and for sufferers of cerebral palsy, or in those with vision problems? I guess so as it’s the protein itself that’s upset you as you clarified.

I think the OP is having a little lie down

How does one 'go extreme' the other way? You mean they just dint have Botox?
But not having Botox doesn't leave one looking like a Klingon?
