To Ask About Fleur De Leis Tummy Tucks

I’ve always wanted a tummy tuck and finally went to see a consultant. As I have fat higher up as well as my stomach and sides I would need a fleur de leis which means a scar from hip bone to hip bone and then another scar up the middle of my stomach to my ribs.

Has anyone had this? Were you happy with the results? How does your scars look now?

The rest of me is a size 12 and in proportion but my stomach area is huge even after losing lots of weight.

it’s super expensive and the recovery looks horrid so I need to be sure about my decision.

It would really help me to hear from anyone who has had this done or if you have a before and after picture.

Thank you.

Scars are super cool. I also have a big wobbly tummy that won't shift (even at bmi16 it was bulbous due to skin/old fat cells) after extreme and rapid weightloss. I'd totally swap it for a cool scar. Unfortunately I'm too much of a wimp to go under the knife.

I'm on my wl journey but would say to go for it! Scars are scars, the ability to wear a tight top will supercede them! Well done on the weight loss x

I had one about 7 years ago. My surgeon did an amazing job and I'm delighted with the results. My scars are very neat and barely noticeable. I wear a bikini on holidays and nobody has ever commented or looked to be honest. I actually had to point my abdomen scar out to my cousin on holiday, she genuinely didn't notice.

Go for it.
The scar(s) may not be very noticeable, but if you hate them you can always get a great tattoo.

I had an FDL just over a year ago, after maintaining a 7 stone weight loss for 10 years.

The scars are fine, hardly noticeable. Results I'm 80% happy with.

The recovery was the hardest thing I've ever been through - like, horrendous. I'm still traumatised and not sure if it was worth it.

Feel free to PM.

I’m sorry to hear that recovery was traumatising. May I ask why it was?

I’m sorry to hear that recovery was traumatising. May I ask why it was?

I'm fairly fit and active (marathons etc), so it was a shock being so immobile and being in so much pain for months - and I have a high pain threshold.

The stress of healing (you are likely to have minor complications like stitch spitting etc, even if all goes well), the uncomfortable swelling, it takes a very real toll on your mental health, even if you're very resilient.

I had a large muscle gap, so that added additional pain.

If you go for it, make sure you have a good chunk of time off to rest, and have a strong support network around you.

More than happy to answer questions.

There's a FB page you should join if you haven't already - reach out there to people having surgery at the same time/same surgeon I made a few friends who also had TTs with the same surgeon and they helped hugely.

Do at least 3 consultations - ask specifically about their aftercare and revision policies. Ask to see photos of previous clients with a similar body type to you.

Good luck.

I’m going under the knife as soon as my inheritance comes through! Scars don’t bother me as it’s more about how I look dressed than undressed for me! I’ve already had a breast lift and reduction and am glad I did
