How to get rid of belly fat?

Stop eating I hear you cry!!!

Well I am trying and my diet, although not amazing, is improving. I still have a very obvious roll of fat around my belly area. Certainly not helped by having 2 c sections but I was never the washboard stomach type even before them. Even when I lose weight the roll is still there and I suspect it always will be now due to scar tissue etc. But it feels really big at the moment and I genuinely can't wear anything unless it skims my tummy because anything remotely figure hugging just makes it stand out terribly.

What are your tips for reducing belly fat?

Noom. I think I have written try Noom on several posts lately 🙂 I think it's really good.

The OP doesn't say she needs to lose weight!
It's not always that easy. I have a BMI of 21, so quite low. But my waist is nearly in the danger zone. If my BMI gets to 22, my waist would be more than half my height. It's just how some of us are built I think.

Very low carb.

I had to do a low blood sugar diet twice for medical reasons and it's the only time I've had a perfect stomach even post 2 babies.

The limit is 30g per meal. So one or two new potatoes, or one very small baked new potato - paired with loads of veg or

For all meals. So high protein bread with loads of eggs and avocado on top for breakfast.

No toast, no bowls of pasta. No sugar at all. Only savoury carbs in the smallest portions you need to give your body energy

I felt so much better for it.

But it's boring, so I dropped off the wagon once the medical issue passed

I really believe every body is different and we store fat in different places. But for me, the best way is strength and core exercise.

A good diet will help you lose the weight/fat, but you can't target problem areas this way.

In addition to the good diet habits, you need to do some weight/resistance training. Although this won't burn the fat from specific areas you can target certain muscles/muscle groups to tone up, plus better muscle composition helps with metabolism and therefore quicker fat burning.

Alcohol does not stop fat burning for 24 hours. There is no evidence for this.

The liver produces bile, produces proteins, produces hormones, stores excess glucose, stores vitamins and minerals etc etc. Alcohol metabolizing enzymes occur naturally, as does alcohol in foods.

The liver does not stop its other functions after you have had a glass of wine!

Eat more protein and weight train - your whole body will thank you
