Falling asleep - how to simulate a train ride at home?

i have trouble falling asleep. Even the quality of sleep isn’t great. I have a long commute to work - , I feel sleepy when I’m on the train... How can I replicate the train set up at home?

I think it is because you don’t move on a train. I am sure I read somewhere that if a human stays completely still for some length of time (minutes not hours) they will naturally fall asleep and we have to train ourselves not to.

Could you find some sort of ambient sounds based on train noises to play while you're falling asleep?

You tube have actual train journey sounds all night long.
I have used them.

But I do use an adblocker so as to not get disturbed by ads waking me up.

Indian Railways sound like Oldskool English rails.

Sit in the bathroom with a toilet full of wee, preferably men’s.
Bag on your lap. Get somebody to shout out your next stop every few minutes. You’ll be off in no time!

I work on the train home, if not listen to an audiobook

We used to do the Calais - St Raphael train Journey in a shared sleeping car
Being swung around all night long was quite interesting- Stations by night and getting warmer the further South you got - the beautiful purple pink dawn and sweet air of The South past Marseille-Lovely.

Going North wasn’t so lovely.

Try listening to BBC sounds radio 3U. The Sleep Tracks programme plays train sounds with music for several hours, about once a week, available on listen again. You can set the timer to turn it off after a set period.
