For the past few days, it's been happening a lot. Only concerned because of the lip as well. Has anyone ever had this?

I’d give it a bit longer. It can be a classic sign of stress. I have had a twitchy eye when stressed before (but I wouldn’t have necessarily have described myself as stressed). It can take 6 weeks to settle down. Mine did go away after a few weeks.

I get this when I'm tired/stressed. Usually eyelids but sometimes around my mouth too. It's common and probably no cause for concern.

MrsPerfect12 · 04/02/2025 19:43

I get this if I'm over tired or stressed. The blinking makes me feel like I'm winking at people.

Stress for me too (even when I wouldn't necessarily describe myself as stressed at that particular point in time). I take it as a sign to take things a little easier.

I was always told it was a sign of extreme fatigue and/or stress.

Are you taking any medication? I ask as I know that twitching of the upper/lower eyelids can be a side effect.

I get this sometimes, I find doing some neck stretches, avoiding screens, and getting an early night helps!

Yes, I think it was tiredness for me. I'd try magnesium.

milkywaygalaxy · 04/02/2025 20:43

Yes quite often at the moment when very tired/sleep deprived, stress can also cause it

Autther · 04/02/2025 20:44

I take magnesium supplements to help with eye twitching

Tilesformiles2 · 05/02/2025 12:55

Try drinking an electrolyte, if you're a bit out of whack it can really help with twitches

InvisibilityCloakActivated · 05/02/2025 12:59

I had a twitchy eye for a long time. Sleep deprivation when the kids were younger. Get some early nights.

Look also at your caffeine/alcohol intake, amount of screen time and maybe an eye test in case you need glasses.

If you still have problems, see a doc.

WigglyVonWaggly · 05/02/2025 13:13

Eye twitches are also caused by excessive caffeine because I asked my doctor - may well cause the mouth twitches too!

Stress and tiredness! Try and get more sleep and cut down on caffeine.
