Calf pain

Every now and then I get a dull ache in my calf. No redness or swelling but the past two times (on the advice of MN and perhaps my own anxiety around health issues) I've been the GP who did checks and arranged d dimer blood work and it came back fine. Just don't know what could be causing it.

I generally feel like I ache more. I wake up in the mornings with back ache and feel pretty stiff. I'm only 40, is this what ageing is?!

I work part time in a very a sedentary job and the rest of the time I'm fairly active, no fixed exercise but always running around doing jobs and doing stuff with the kids. Could the two drastically different halves of the week be causing it?

I just feel sick of worrying about aches and pains and feeling like my body is constantly hurting somewhere!

I had this for years, and then someone suggested "eccentric heel drops" exercises. (Do them gently.) I did them on a step inside my house. Fixed it completely. No idea what caused it in the first place.

A sedentary job and no structured exercise at our age are pretty much guaranteed to cause stiffness and aches. From experience "running around doing jobs" normally means driving everywhere, doing shopping and cleaning and taking kids to school. It rarely means being active in a way that helps to keep fit and supple.
I would speak to your GP about health anxiety and also come up with a plan to introduce purposeful movement throughout the day.

Really sympathise, I get very bad foot and hand cramps when it's cold. I had to get a hot water bottle earlier.

Speak to your GP again? I find some easy to dismiss pain

With the back and general aching, might you need a new mattress?
