Thought I would add one for John Lewis as people were discussing M&S models.

JL landing page really shocked me.
The arms.
I know we should celebrate all women, but I find this rather a disturbing and retrogressive look.
Disclaimer:
Yes I understand thin women are real women, no I do not celebrate morbid obesity and yes I am a tall slim woman who lived through heroin chic 90s and the stick thin 00s size 00 Rachel Zoe celeb craze and it harmed my body image and resulted in an ED.

Now even JL is trying to be down with the kids and high fashion, thrusting this look in my face. Has nothing been learned?!
Not sure why I blurred some of the faces. I don’t want to attack the individuals but the overall look of the site.
If JL see this- It reminds me of ED thinspo pages from back in the day!!!!!

CLICK TO OPEN PHOTOS FULLY.
Am I being unreasonable to expect more responsible imagery from JL?

I can imagine that people that are naturally thin maybe upset by this post op.

People who have trouble with their weight often refuse to believe that anyone is naturally very slim - because they have naturally small appetites and aren’t endlessly scoffing cakes and biscuits, etc.

I should know - decades ago I was one such (alas no longer!) and someone I thought was a friend - someone almost always on some sort of diet - spread it around our circle that I was anorexic.

She had apparently based this on the fact that I’d once turned down the offer of biscuits at her house - probably custard creams, which I’d never liked anyway.

It was months before I found out, and for a while I was literally speechless.

So we can't talk about fat or thin now - we can't talk about race as it's racist (Rotherham), we can't talk about transgenderism as it's transphobic, but we have thousands of children who have had medication or surgery, So we have another subject we can't talk about. There can be repercussions.

It’s not about body shaming models. It’s about extremely thin being presented as the norm when displaying clothes when most of the population is not that size.
Serioulsy cry me a river if you are naturally thin and say you feel body shamed by this thread. You know it is put on a pedestal. You know this is what the media chases and presents to everyone else as what we should be. And yet when people complain it makes them feel bad they want to see diversity you cry body shaming. Pathetic. And smug.
