Or does DH just not get it? Sleep regression

I have a DD 8 months currently going through a sleep regression, waking up a few times at night but mainly she is refusing to nap or cutting all her naps short.

I do 99% of the parenting as DH is always at work, I do almost all bedtimes, bathtimes, meals, night wakes unless I shake DH awake to go. Today DD is refusing to nap again, I’m so frustrated at her because it means I don’t get any time in the day to myself apart from an hour after she’s in bed when I have to make dinner, sort washing, etc. DH has heard me on the monitor getting frustrated at her and had a go at me because he doesn’t understand the problem. He’s sat downstairs with her for an hour today whilst I cleaned the bathroom so thinks I’ve had a break.

AIBU here? I’m so frustrated and he just doesn’t understand why.

Cleaning the bathroom is not "a break".

Before it gets worse, tell your DH that he needs to step the hell up because that’s his baby and you’re doing everything.

Do not allow him to make you feel guilty because you’re on maternity leave and he’s working - his job is not 24 hours, yours at the moment is. You need to properly split the childcare (and the chores, dinner cooking and laundry for that matter) before the resentment grows into an irreconcilable disconnect between you

Why can’t your DH make dinner or put her to bed?

DH has heard me on the monitor getting frustrated at her and had a go at me because he doesn’t understand the problem.

DH definitely needs to step up and take sole charge while you are out if the way for his own sake, so he gets some insight into the challenges of your role.

Call it on the job training, he really really needs something and this might help. Good luck.
