Any advice welcome I am really stuck!

Hi everyone! Hoping someone on here can help that’s been in my situation.
im currently going through a break up. We have two young kids and I work two days a week. We own the house 50/50. I really don’t want to have to sell the house as for obvious reasons girls schools them being settled etc! The girls dad won’t leave and I think we are going to have to sell! It’s getting really hostile now and I’m on the edge all the time. I want to get this moving but where do I even start?
What are my options? I’m on low income but will obviously get money from the house which is great but won’t last me forever!!

Can you stay with family until the house is sold? Then presumably you'll need all the money from the sale to buy yourself a new smaller house?
Are you married?

Can you work more hours, get a mortgage and buy him out? Or take your equity and buy somewhere? Are you married and what are his finances like?

thnk you! Not married and my youngest is 3 so not at school yet so would then have to pay for more childcare. I’m on low income so I’m really stuck

Don’t move out, OP. Any solicitor tell you that. You need to find out his financial situation, incl pensions then see a lawyer to see what your options are. Most do a free initial consult.

Your options are :

Buy him out and stay in the house
Sell the house and split the proceeds

You need to gather all financial information and see a family law solicitor. You might find wikivorce helpful and the CABx website has lots of information. Rights of Women give free legal advice.
