To ask if this sounds like a good way to lose 1/2 a stone?

I am not overweight but my diet is poor and I've got wobbly bits, and carry extra weight on my belly.
In terms of the exercise I do, I walk around an hour probably 6 times a week, try to do a 5k run once a week, and then 1 or 2 gym or swimming sessions.
So I am active, but it's not like intense exercise every day. Previously I was eating around 2170 calories a day and I've now gone down to 1670, this is only the second say but my plan is to do this for 7 weeks to hopefully lose 1lb a week/half a stone.

My diet before was horrendous. I don't drink at all, but I love unhealthy food. I'd eat cookies/brownies/chocolate etc. Every day without fail, if I hadn't had one, it hadn't been a good day. Can of diet coke every day, love pizzas, burgers, chips, hotdogs, toasties etc.
I know there are ways to make the above healthier which is what im going to try and do now.
It's a miracle I'm not overweight but I may well be 'skinny fat' I don't sleep well and this may well be due to my diet. I could do days without eating veg, I do like most fruit and veg but I'd find a salad boring and feel like it wasn't substantial. My favourite meal would be a stuffed crust pizza with a huge oreo shake and some fries.

I'm mid 30s so still fairly young, but couldn't believe how horrendous my diet was. Really hoping I can keep this up, any suggestions?
Anyone else in the same boat? I know it's not a huge amount to lose, but it's just about changing the way I eat too.

I've been stressed recently as I'm very unhappy in my new job of 2 months and looking for something else, plus I've had some debt to pay off, but I'm hoping things will improve once the above is sorted.

Well done for looking at your habits! You’ve got this.

I would try Noom. It’s the only thing that’s ever kept the weight off for me because it got to the psychological reasons why I ate that sort of stuff. I lost 8kg and it’s stayed off.

I would also focus on protein as much as you can and reduce white carbs. Drink tons of water. I lost 4kg doing this in 5 weeks with no exercise

There is loads of super healthy, very tasty food out there. If you want to get into the habit of cooking more healthy, less processed stuff, why not try one of those meal delivery kits for a month or two? I sometimes order a box or two when feeling uninspired and keep the recipes i like to make again from my own shopping. I have a code for a free box to start if you fancy (pm if so) but there are loads of options.
