Yes, I thought it became known he was one of the many disgusting males some years ago?

Report out today, with further revelations.

It's like a creep cult over there. You know there's more where that came from!!

ItGhoul · 30/01/2025 14:16

He mostly worked on Channel 4.

More to the point, another disgusting male who everyone knew was disgusting and many of whom carried on watching programmes he featured in.

As with Savile, Harris and countless others, it was so obvious they were serious predators, but people didn't want to rock the boat.

Caitlin Moran suggests in The Times today that the BBC should just stop employing male celebrities and employ women instead. Not a bad solution. Interesting that this report has come out the day after the suspension of Wynne Evans.

Finally, I have lost patience with the BBC over the licence (!) it gives male 'stars' and the lack of protection it affords women staff and freelancers. Repeatedly they say 'We don't tolerate inappropriate sexualised behaviour' but they do tolerate it, again and again. Why ever was Wynne allowed to tour with Strictly when he'd already had several warnings, for example.

There is nothing surprising about it though. We have known about him for years

In a world where men can be women for the asking (and are lauded for doing so), this isn’t quite the get out she supposes.

True. Let's hope that ridiculous world is fading into history.

Another disgusting male. Full stop.

Wherever there have been powerful men, there has been abuse. It has been covered up in industry, media, sport, religions, schools, the care system. We hear more about the abuse at the BBC because the media love to talk about themselves and the non BBC media loves to attack the BBC. But it has been absolutely everywhere. A lot of the private sector stuff is covered up by non-disclosure agreements. There is nothing unique about the BBC.
