To think Corrie is so bleak and depressing these days

I remember when it was funny but now it’s all gangs and stabbings and death.

It was always fairly bleak when I remember it from my childhood in the 80s — grim affairs in knicker factories and women in curlers and pinnies talking about ‘er at number twenty…?

Corrie used to be good in the 80s when you had duos like Vera and Jack Duckworth and also Hilda and Stan Ogden. The couples would bicker over something and then they would make up and one of them would say something to the other that brought a smile to the husband's or wife's face.

The best episode ever was Jack winning the accumulator. Sometime in the 90s, I think. Went downhill after that, just bad things happening to people all the time.
