Googled my partners name and concerned about something that’s come up?

My partner is semi-well known in his field and I googled his name purely out of curiosity and because he has a conference coming up.

at the bottom of the search results it says “in response to a complaint we have received under copyright act, we have removed results from this page”. When I click on it it’s a link that has been shared from a persons onlyfans to a number of porn sites.

does this mean he has shared that? I honestly feel sick at the thought of it.

Does he have a particularly distinctive name? Ie can you be sure that whatever’s going on was about him and not someone else?

PleaZzzzz · 29/01/2025 17:53

very distinctive name, all other google results are him. I’m just wondering if he’s uploaded something or just commented on it?? But it makes me feel sick either way

Hard to say from this. All I can draw from it is that it means he looks at OF/porn sites which would not be a deal breaker for me, but maybe it is for you?

susey · 29/01/2025 17:55

Are you talking about the standard disclaimer on Google search results? Nearly everything in Europe has that...

Catza · 29/01/2025 17:56

When I click on it it’s a link that has been shared from a persons onlyfans to a number of porn sites.

What does this sentence mean exactly? What's the link? Who is the person? What's been shared and where and how were you able to access it given its been removed due to copyright laws? Is your bloke sharing photos of his feet on onlyfans or what? I don't understand what you are disgusted about? For all we know this may have nothing to do with him at all.

Reugny · 29/01/2025 17:57

It could mean something, it could mean nothing.

People impersonate others all the time online.

ThisOldThang · 29/01/2025 18:02

Is this what you're on about? It's at the bottom of every search page and nothing to worry about.

Why don't you try searching for your partner's name using a different search engine?

What are you clicking on exactly? If you click on the message saying a link has been removed it should take you through to a page on Google explaining the removal policy.

Why would it be removed then show the link that makes no sense

Wackadaywideawake · 29/01/2025 18:16

A few possible explanations.

Names and images can sometimes be wrongly associated with explicit material due to mistaken identity, malicious intent, or automated content scraping.

Copyright Takedown Requests. The message suggests that someone (possibly your partner or someone acting on his behalf) has requested the removal of certain links under copyright law. This is often done when content is used without permission, whether it’s personal or professional material.

Online Reputation Attacks. In some cases, people’s names are falsely linked to explicit content as part of defamation or harassment.

Since this content appears to have been shared from an OnlyFans account to multiple sites, it’s worth considering whether someone with a similar name or appearance is involved (sounds unlikely based on what you wrote about his name, but not imposdible).

His name has been falsely linked to the content. (You have to consider why he didn’t tell about it if that’s the case.)

Someone he knows (or an impersonator) has used his details.

i think you’re going to have to ask him. Good luck OP. I’m sorry you dealing with this.

JustMyView13 · 29/01/2025 18:19

Ask him.

Well, yes and search for your own name and see what you get
