Cheesetrings - there must be a better way.

Right so I'm not trying to start a debate on whether they're real cheese (probably not) or absolutely delicious (definitely are). But...

Why, for the love of God, do the manufacturers stick them together? I've just bought two packs of 8, and despite peeling the individual wrappers away from each other reallllllly carefully, I've lost 3 cheesestrings due to ripped packaging.
By lost I obviously mean I've eaten them, but what else could I do.

AIBU to this there absolutely, definitely MUST be a better solution? Shove them in a bag like pepperamis, sell them individually for 50p each; I don't know what it is but it's driving me batty!!

That's all 😵‍💫

I feel your pain, you have to tear the perforated line VERY carefully

Or you could use scissors....

And cheese strings are absolutely cheese! Food of the gods!

anothermnuser123 · 29/01/2025 14:42

If this regularly happens, isn't the obvious solution separating them with scissors to ensure they don't rip?

Insidenumber09 · 29/01/2025 14:46

I can’t get on with cheesestrings they literally don’t taste of anything - even my 2 year old won’t touch them and it’s the only thing the dog doesn’t nick off with if dropped 🤷‍♀️

I know it’s not the question here but surprised they are even liked enough to bother with.

girljulian · 29/01/2025 15:32

I love them but you're right!

Needmorelego · 29/01/2025 15:35

I prefer buying the cheese slices (not Dairylea - they're tasteless).
I roll it up into a tube or ball and shove it in that way.

MadamWillYouTalk · 29/01/2025 15:38

What I'm taking away from this is that you can get packs of 8! Updating shopping list...

ThirdStorm · 29/01/2025 15:39

I love them too and I use scissors to separate them.

Ha my dog always turned his nose up at a cheese string! I quite like them though.

Sounds like scissors are the way forward ✂️ I use scissors for everything. Cutting up raw meat, slicing sandwiches and pizza everything (not immediately after the raw chicken though before anyone says it lol 🙃)

string cheese is usually mozzarella
