To think not RSVPing to a birthday party but still turning up is rude?

Why do people think not sending an RSVP and then turning up or replying the day before is acceptable? Yes there are RSVP deadlines on the invitations.

I wouldn't necessarily think the person is rude, and would apply the don't know what else is going on in their life!

I forgot to RSVP once (thought I had, was moving house and incredibly stressed.) I even sent my child along with another parent, so even worse!! It wasn't intentional...

I've always done extra party bags and made extra food just in case for my kids parties.

It happened with my youngest when he had a party...I had brought extra party bags in case someone pulled that stunt.

Answer is not to tell them the details until they have replied. Just enough for them to be able to RSVP.

Love this idea! I will definitely be doing this from now on.

I did not see this! People have lost the plot.

You should read that thread..hilarious...

For my DC's birthday parties there are always 2-3 who don't respond. I don't care if they find me rude but I will get in touch with them in order to get an answer. I mean how hard can it be to just text yes or no. And I pay per head so can offer their place to siblings rather than pay for nothing. And also... make sure personalised party bags and vegan/kosher/halal/glutenfree snacks are ready!😅

Totally agree. It smacks of "Don't know what I'm doing. I'm going to wait and see if a better offer comes along first".
