Always fussy! When does it get better?

Hi everyone, I have an almost 8-month-old baby. The first 4 months were all about colic, then teething, a growth spurt at 6 months, and now more teething. Eight months of struggles so far. I thought crawling would help him feel better, but it hasn’t. He gets up, eats, and spends a little time in the baby gym, but quickly gets fussy. He crawls everywhere, I follow him for about 10 minutes, and then it’s two hours of fussiness. I try everything—singing, playing, but it’s exhausting.
My friends send videos of their calm babies, and I wonder what I’m doing wrong. Some days, I cry because the constant fussing overwhelms me. I know other moms are stronger, but this is hard for me. My husband helps a lot, but he works long hours. I don’t have other support.
Moms with similar experiences, did things get better once your baby started walking? I’d run a marathon just to see him happy. Thank you for reading and any advice you can offer.

I'd guess your friend only gets a moment to pick up her phone when her baby is calm. You're getting a distorted view of how easy she has it.

It sounds tough, but I wouldn't compare yourself you her, your only getting a well curated glimpse of her life and how good she has it.

Agreed that you don’t see the moments other people want to cry!! It’s such a difficult age, hope it gets easier soon, lots of deep breaths and hope you get some lovely moments with your baby too x

Yes, maybe you're right. I also know that everyone has their struggles.

What do you mean by 'fussy'? Could he be uncomfortable or in pain?

After 10 minutes of crawling, he seems grumpy, as if he's bored, loudly whining and complaining.

Maybe speak with the health visitor, there might be something causing it. Possibly digestive issues if its always shortly after eating. It's normal for parenting to be full on and hard work but they're usually easily pleased with songs etc so if that isn't working for your little one there may be something making him uncomfortable. Unlikely to be anything serious so it's not to worry you, I'm sure there would be other symptoms if it was but there could be something going on that the health visitor could advise you on.
