After my 10th miscarriage one as recent as yesterday and I am just wondering if anyone had any experience with recurring misscarriage treatment? I’m looking at going private because I just need answers and help

Try and see Professor Siobhan Quenby. I don’t know where you are in the uk but Prof Q is based in Coventry and sorted me out after doing a test, similar to a smear. Result was high NK cells. My own body was essentially killing early embryos as my body’s immune system was overactive.

I went to nuffield health had ultrasound and was put on clomid aspirin and progesterone all very quickly. My problem was low quality/older eggs and low progesterone good luck

Have you contacted Tommy’s? I work within maternity services and the nhs are extremely limited in what they can offer (at least in my area) I often advise women to reach out to Tommy’s either to get recommendations for investigations to ask for locally or to apply to have care with Tommy’s themselves. Several of my clients have achieved successful pregnancies with various drugs and treatment plans devised by them

I’m sorry about your losses. What suggestions have you had from the GP? Have you asked for a referral?

Hello.

My experience is with Liverpool women’s reoccurring miscarriage clinic after 7 miscarriages.

It was a while ago.

The service were very open and honest with me.
There is chronic underfunding into research into miscarriage.
I was told that they do not know the reason for over 70% of miscarriages.

The treatments described by a pp above (asprin, progesterone, high dose folic acid and clexane injections) are experimental with no evidence base to support the efficacy.

As I was desperate, I took the prescription and started them.
I once again miscarried on this cocktail, that miscarriage took longer to complete and the blood loss was torrential due to the blood thinners.

They then discharged me as they said they couldn’t help me, had no answers for me and it was likely to keep happening.

I went on to have a completely healthy pregnancy with no help, no supplemental treatments completely out of the blue and unexpectedly.
I wish you good luck and hope that knowledge and evidence base has moved on.

Anyone else got an advise?

Professor Lesley Regan in London. I 100% recommend her. She was thorough and very focussed on making sure my next pregnancy had the best possible chance.

After treatment with her, my next pregnancy was successful and that baby is now 2 ❤️

Which county are you in?

teenyweenyreeny · 27/01/2025 13:53

Hi another vote for Lesley Regan and the team at st Mary's in Paddington on the recurrent miscarriage unit ( the yellow team) they are absolutely brilliant. And very reassuring.

Shattereddreamsparkway · 27/01/2025 22:35

I paid £200 for consultation and similar for an ultrasound £50ish for clomid and £75 for progesterone. I conceived on clomid but that was prior to progesterone I then conceived naturally with progesterone and aspirin and had my son Oct 2023. I’m sorry for all your losses I hope it works out for you

Hi! I have had 3 misscarriages, all first trimester. I have been waiting 8 months for a recurrent loss appointment with the nhs and I don’t think they will be much help so I would really take matters into to your own hands. By researching myself and acting fast to get testing and answers I have saved years of waiting on the nhs! I went privately with a local doctor who did a biopsy on my womb, getting the results back next week, it was checked for NK cells. I also discovered from intense blood tests I have APS blood clotting disorder & a thin womb lining. I have started metformin, pegestrone & aspirin for this! You could have a blood clotting disorder or auto immune disease that is killing embryos etc but this can be fixed. I highly reccomend finding a doctor yourself, I am going to the ACGC clinic next month for further tests - the consultation is £200! They have the highest success rates in the UK :) I hope this helps

Coolasfeck · 07/03/2025 16:43

It wasn’t me but I know someone who had 8 miscarriages.

Following investigation it was found that her womb lining was too thin following a harsh scraping to check abnormal cells after a smear test.

Essentially every time the foetus got to a weight that put pressure on her womb, the thinness made it fall through. Unsure of how they resolved but she went on to have 3 DC.

kungfoofighting · 07/03/2025 16:48

I haven’t but I understand there is lots of testing you can do (currently doing IVF so this is all on the radar).

You can look into immunology and things like silent endo, adenomyosis, inflammation, and so on.

There are lots of investigations that can be done and lots of treatment options. Lots of IVF clinics will also have expertise in this.

Sorry to hear of your pregnancy losses. Best of luck for your next steps X

SammiePocket · 07/05/2025 09:30

Hi so sorry for your losses, I'm just wondering if you did go private in the end and how you got on please? Currently going through similar and looking for support x
