Eyelashes are sparse, any ideas?

Revitalash. It’s pricey but it works. I’ve tried loads in the past and this is the only one I’ve seen results from. You do have to stick with it - true of all of them - but after a few weeks you will see the difference.

HelenaWaiting · 25/01/2025 13:25

I like UKlash but it is also pricey.

CatsForGovernment · 25/01/2025 13:45

Revitalash is insane. I had to trim my eyelashes as I couldn't wear sunglasses at one point.

It really works and lasts ages. I go through x2 tubes a year which is so worth it to me. I use cheap mascara or just tint my lashes and they look amazing.

Be warned, if you stop using it then you will go through about a month of sparse lashes as you basically interrupt the growth cycle by using it. So if you stop the older lashes will come out.

MyMyMySharona · 25/01/2025 14:07

I've never tried any of the mascaras, as I don't wear a lot of make up, and it's pretty rare that I do anyway.

When I started using black caster oil to try to grow the last third (yes it worked!) of my eyebrows back, I had an amount of oil left in the palm of my hand, so I used it on my eyelashes.
I kept it up, and my bottom set got thicker, noticeably.
The top set did too, but the bottom row stood out, as the big change.
Just be careful not to get the oil in your eyes.

I used this and ended up with a kind of people colour on my lash line. It was sore too.

Whatadayyyyyyy · 25/01/2025 14:43

Can I ask, with these lash serums, do they make your lashes thicker or just longer? I have long eyelashes already but they are a bit sparse so I would like to try a serum if it makes more lashes grow so makes them thicker?

I use and recommend this. Used to buy online but it's also in Boots now.

MonkeyHarold · 25/01/2025 14:48

I recommend UKLASH. It's not cheap but it does work and it's quite often discounted. I stock up when it's 25% off.

blackfriday1 · 25/01/2025 14:52

Second vote for castor oil. Effective, cheap and natural and works wonders for brows and lashes!

HornyHornersPinger · 25/01/2025 15:16

Another vote for UKLash. Yes a vial is pricey but lasts absolutely ages and I usually buy the double pack for better value. Last bought 2 about 18 months ago and am only just running out. It's amazing stuff.

Another vote for Revitalash. I honestly can't believe the difference in my eyelashes. I buy it on eBay as it's quite a lot cheaper.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 25/01/2025 15:35

Revitalash has prostaglandins in, which can cause several different issues. Within two weeks of starting to use it, I had big dark circles under my eyes and it went in the bin - expensive mistake! For reasons best known to myself, I had bought a pack of two, and I actually couldn’t give the unused one away to friends because they’d had similar or other issues.

But yes, the serums definitely work - I would just choose one without this potential issue. LashLuxury for me.

Snailbleu · 25/01/2025 15:39

I used UKlash and saw quick results and got lots of comments. However prompted by another MN thread about this, I realised my eyelids had become really discoloured, like a mottled red/purple. No park. Or smithing but I stopped using it after that

Snailbleu · 25/01/2025 15:40

Sorry, that was meant to say no pain or irritation, but I stopped using it

BeckyWithTheGoodBear · 25/01/2025 15:50

Spectaculash. It takes a bit longer to see results than UKLash but it doesn't contain prostaglandins so there are no side effects.

Electricfeels · 25/01/2025 15:52

The Ordinary lash serum is the best I’ve tried, and I’ve also used Revitalash and UKLash.

happy2025 · 25/01/2025 15:59

I was using UKLash and it was great but the horror stories of permanent damage due to chemicals put me off and I stopped. I have now switched to Perl Eye lash (natural oil based) - can't report success yet as I have started 10 days ago and expect it will be a much longer journey. But it's safe and I can feel a difference when I rub my eyes accidentally. Also my sleep is deeper due to the oil which is a nice touch!

RitaFromTheRanch · 25/01/2025 17:41

Castor oil works

AgMaggy · 25/01/2025 17:44

I’ve just started using Diablo. It got good reviews, it was half price and it doesn’t include the hormones which causes issues with skin discolouration etc and most importantly it is cruelty free

SoScarletItWas · 25/01/2025 17:45

I agree about the risks with prostaglandins but I’ve never had that reaction. I’ve been using Revitalash for about 10 years. I tried one of the brand that don’t contain prostaglandins - ordered two as they were on offer, the first tube smelled of fish so they sent a replacement. Which also smelled of fish. It all went in the bin.

greengreyblue · 25/01/2025 17:47

U.K. lash. Just started second tube. Has revitalised my post meno lashes. Longer and fuller. I don’t mind paying £30 as it has lasted 3 months and it works. Can get away with cheap mascara now.
No side effects.

Plump82 · 25/01/2025 17:50

I absolutely love Grande Cosmetics eyelash serum. I got it in an advent calendar but it's so just expensive. Im currently using Uklash don't rate it. I think there's been a slight growth but nothing like what I had with Grande Cosmetics.

Bpe · 25/01/2025 17:52

I thought that eyelash growth serums cause fat loss under the eyes and can make you look older?

This is the prostaglandin issue (or one of them). There are ones without.

Yes this is what prostaglandins can do (along with darkening the eyelid area). Personally not happened to me but it’s the potential side effect.
