I have just done and now wonder if that was a bit mean of me. He is away and I have gotten a bit carried away.

He really likes the open plan sparse look but I really don't and it has proved impractical.

So I now have a lovely new squashy armchair and have papered our chimney breast and put up lots more pictures. I've bought loads of cushions too and a new rug for our bedroom.

I'm now worried he will come home and complain ,but I am sooo happy with the results.

I have just chosen new carpets and curtains for our house (rented so not me paying). DH didn't even want any of them replaced.
I am in the house a lot more than he is

DP's forever coming home to find the furniture has changed or moved around, new things etc.
He never seems to mind, however, today I found two new mugs in the house I don't recognise and I feel violated! It never occured tome that he would find it weird-it's just what I've always done.

Your new room sounds lovely, he'll probably like it homlier too.
