Has anyone tried this style of carrier for their baby? Mine is 12 months. They look like they could be brilliant but also not sure if baby’s bum would slip out? Linked here

Please also drop any recommendations for carriers below! I was hoping the above one would save my back and it looks cute too!

thanks mums! ❤️

Yes! Rose and Rebellion do a carrier for kids up to age 5. I used mine all the time with DD - who was and is extremely big for her age. It’s amazing.

I carried my kid till he was 4, including 22k steps in Glastonbury mud one day. I would only buy a recongnised brand and wouldn’t buy off Amazon personally as a lot of takes of well know ln brands but you’ll often get them secondhand in local groups.

I used Rose and Rebellion but for a larger child I loved the Lillebaby airflow toddler carrier which was breathable for sweaty and tired larger kids. It’s lighter and packs smaller than the rose and rebellion one which is a consideration if you will be encouraging your child to walk as much as possible and only carry when they are tired, or you’re in crowds/a rush.

Thanks for that @Runssometimes ! It’s mainly for my 1 year old who can’t walk yet but it would be handy for the school run as some times I cba with a buggy on a busy London train. I did see that the better looking brands are alot more expensive but was wondering if there was a huge amount of difference in quality but based on what you have said I can see there is! Thank you for your help! Rose and rebellion sound brilliant so just about to check them out!

I had high hopes for that one but carrier obsessed DS hated it so I had to return it.

I hated it. It put too much pressure on my shoulder. I just use a toddler integra. It's super comfy and I use it with my 3year old.

OP you should see if there’s a sling library near you as they will often let you borrow some. There’s loads across London. Different designs can fit different people, or you might like more or less padding. They sometimes sell second hand ones but they’ll be quality brands. I have a short torso and DS was very slim so liked the super adjustable ones. My R&R was modified just for me. The Lillebaby fit me out of the box, DS was longer then.

They are a godsend on tubes as well. No need to worry about stairs and I always thought in an emergency I could get out with my kid fast rather than trying to deal with a buggy or whatever.

A good one will last for ages and you can usually sell on. They take a bit of getting used to if you don’t already carry, and you’ll need to learn to get LO in it by yourself, once DS could stand I used to sort of grab his hands and swing him onto my back which he loved. Before he could walk I used to put him on my hip and scooch him round on my back. But again a sling library can give you help and advice while you get the hang of it.

I have never heard of a sling library 😂that’s brilliant! I feel absolutely clueless.

I only ever used a carrier with my other two when they were tiny but baby no3 is very much a Velcro baby (which I love) but I think a carrier will help.

i will try and find a sling library and see what they have to offer. Such a brilliant idea, thank you!
