To feel like I'm wishing it away?

I have two boys, 4 and 18 months. I love them to bits and for the most part it's really lovely being their mum, neither of them have any issues really, think they pretty normal kids! But I. AM. SHATTERED.
They just both have such totally different needs/interests at the moment and it's just so non-stop trying to stop the youngest tearing the house apart while the 4 year old goes stir crazy. Winter definitely making it worse as much more limited "take them to a field and turn them loose" opportunities.
I don't want to wish these years away, just want someone to tell me when it gets a bit less intense!
YABU - this time is precious and wonderful, how dare you not love it
YANBU - this is a tough time, and it will get easier!

Mine are 5 and 2 and I fucking hate this age atm. Constantly arguing. I want to run away.

It’s hard and it’s fine to recognise and acknowledge that. I hate these ‘They’re only little for a while’ type memes everywhere, and social media posts lamenting that children grow up, basically. It’s easy to feel like you’re not making the most of every moment but the moments are special even when they are older. It’s never easy but it does become a bit less intense a few years down the line. So enjoy the good and lovely bits, allow yourself to feel the less wonderful bits and be reassured that it is always special.
