Contraception

There has been much in the news lately about the pill proving to be unsatisfactory for many . This was logically always going to be the long term outcome of so much interference with hormones. What is wrong with a return to the contraceptive cap method ?
ps . I will not accept “ old fashioned “ as a satisfactory answer .

Failure rate of 16%

Can be as high as 30% in women who have previously had children.

Yes when I needed contraception I needed the most reliable one.

Only 92-96% effective.
User error.
Latex and spermicide (if used in conjunction with) can cause irritation.
Recurring uti/bladder infection more likely.
Mmmm😬 I'll pass.

The failure is mainly due to the fact that the thing is sitting in the bathroom.
Quite a few other things cause irritation and I expect many of you use menstrual cups - not a million miles away .

I was very surprised actually to see a 50/50 verdict ; I was expecting to see many more against my observations.

I use a copper coil.

I can't imagine ever using a contraceptive cap tbh.
