It's been one of those days. It seems to be one of those days more often than not lately.

So, please tell me; what are your 6-7 year olds like?!

DD is year 3.
She's so kind and loving, and genuinely interesting in so many things which is amazing to witness.
But....
Oh my. She Never. Shuts. Up. Constant running commentary, starts and never finishes anything, needs frequent reminders to finish basic tasks like finish eating a meal, getting dressed... love her to pieces but I'm naturally quite introverted and she can drain me if I'm close to running on empty.

Maybe we have the same child...

DS is very exquisitive. Loves to learn and ask questions, but he is always on the go, always at 100%. Nothing seems to tire him out. It's very draining for sure.

6.5 DS wakes up and immediately wants to play with the train set. It can be difficult to encourage him and younger sibling to come down for breakfast.

He prefers to have help to get dressed even though I know he can do it himself. I imagine he likes being pampered!

He might be running a toy car around his plate or reading a book at the table. This is against a badly- enforced rule about table manners.

He will disappear and sit reading on the toilet for an hour. I sometimes have to remind him to wash his hands.

He probably eats too many snacks and treats but at least he's alright with vegetables.

If I put an educational app on he'll find the game, and if we visit GPs he'll happily watch a lot of TV.

He gives me a hug if I'm crying.

He asks questions like "tell me everything you know about the solar system".

He doesn't like going to bed and if he can't sleep he'll get out of bed several times.

He's lovely.
