Got a spate of car crime going on. No different to other places I guess?
Men walking round in the night trying car doors etc. A couple of cars have been stolen. Some have been rifled through.

Police have been informed naturally.
It's too much. People are starting to feel like the crims have taken over.
What is wrong with people?

Life is hard enough. They are just making people's lives harder they are now having to worry about their cars overnight?
Why don't they give a toss?
Can't people even have a car now? 😡

What's so great about these keyless cars? Is it really worth the theft risk? I find it quite easy to turn a key in the ignition - you'd have to be really lazy to think that was hard work - am I missing something?

Exactly managed this far with keys.
If they are not beneficial then no point.

My next door neighbours car was stolen. The thieves blow torched his back door lock off, took the car keys so quietly even their dog (crated in a different room) didn't hear them, and took the car.
The police said this is a quite common procedure. The gangs want small sporty cars to drive for a few days for fun then they dump them which is exactly what happened.
We live in a small town in the East Midlands. The gangs come out from the cities, 'do' an area for a few days and then move on. And repeat. Same with thefts of tools from vans.

Same where I live.

Used to feel like a safe little town - we didn't used to lock our front door half the time, or the cars (and this wasn't 50 years ago, maybe 15).

There's a particular group of teenagers that for the last couple of years have been terrorising the place - the 16 yr old ringleader has been in court numerous times, gets out of court and carries on where he left off. He and his little gang steal bikes, break into vans and sheds for tools, go round town throwing rocks at cars, catapult the swans on the canal. Totally brainless. The whole town knows who they are, the police know who they are, there's ring doorbell footage of them all over the place.

He and his family got moved here by the council from another local town, everyone is saying the council need to move them but how does that solve anything?

Welcome to Post-Brexit Britain.
Get used to this because this is the new normal.

Is that you answer to everything ? What was the reason before Brexit for crime ?
