Monorail!

The pavements are all cracked and broken....

"shut it you, the crowd has spoken!"

A small section is there and it looks like businesses don’t want to miss out on the larger one when asked

Las Vegas may be the one that convinces others, maybe cities with clogged fire unsafe risk will be next

Yes, but there's a difference between an under 1 mile section of something and 68 miles beneath a city full of skyscrapers. I wouldn't want something going under my house in London without a big public consultation and some understanding of how it would work, surely.

Sorry, not sure I'm understanding this? Are you saying it could function as an evacuation route in the case of wildfires? That seems like a stretch. Plus, I own a Tesla, somewhat to my embarrassment, but considering the risk involved in electric vehicle fires, which I'm generally comfortable with, I wouldn't particularly want to be in 68 miles of tunnel full of them if things are burning.

Maybe I just thought of it reading the article and the California thread

I actually found the article very interesting and well paced but I haven’t given it all much thought, I only just learned about this loop today

I wouldn’t be surprised if other cities pick it up but I guess we’ll see, I don’t think we have the info on technical stuff

I think he is so jacked up on power right now, I dare not think what may happen next.
That move he did coming into the stage with Trump. He's high and giddy on power.
I'm not saying I'm wildly negative about him, I'm not. But we all know the old adage, power corrupts and absolute power, corrupts absolutely.

Thanks for posting @user22446688

Really interesting article. Pretty concerning as per normal when it comes to anything to do with Elon Musk!

Anywhere with a significant earthquake risk should be definitely scrutinised more with respect to tunnelling but the much wider issue isn't tunnels but the type of transport in said tunnels, a metro system would be capable of moving around many times the number of people per hour with less chance for human error as most modern systems are driverless

Somebody needs to tell him that Raccoon City was made up.
