To want another DC with a small age gap?

Not sure if it’s just hormones or if I want to ttc second DC.

I never thought I was particularly maternal but since I had DS 9 months ago I’ve loved being a mother and can imagine having 3 DC. I know DH wants another although he’s surprised I want to ttc again already. In my own family my brother is only 11 months older than me and we get on brilliantly.

I’m 35 so don’t feel time is on my side. I did have a section for DC1 but he took 4 cycles to concieve. DS is an easy baby and I know this might not be the case with a second.

AIBU to want to ttc now or is it still just hormones talking?

It's not unreasonable at all. It's hard, my sister had 2 in less than 18 months. It was tough but they were both good babies and now they're both in school, plus she has a very supportive DH who is a very equal parent and my parents (and myself) helped loads so they got breaks. It depends on your circumstances really.

I had two in 15 months, the early years were a doddle. They are 14 and 13 now and the bickering/fighting is a nightmare

Not unreasonable, lots of people do it!

Do speak to your GP first though - just to make sure it’s safe to TTC this soon after a c section. I know the risks of uterine rupture can increase if there isn’t enough time to heal between pregnancies, so would be worth checking you’re out of the woods from that perspective.

The surgeon at the time told me 12 months would be ideal however as DS took a few cycles to conceive I’m less worried. I’m actually more concerned that I still have 7lbs to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight which I want to do first! I know women do have babies into their forties but I worry about how much energy I’ll have then, if I wait.
