Gritters and emergency vehicles unable to pass through a road near Edale in the Peak District today due to over 200 double parked cars.
I am a life long hiker and never used to see this at all, in any national park, especially in mid winter.

Is it down to a rise in car ownership, or maybe social media trends? I have no idea, but I do know that even only 7 years ago this never used to really happen much at all outside of very touristy places during the summer hols, and it sure seemed like everyone had a car back then, too!

It boggles the mind how it doesn't seem to occur to these people that it may cause a problem.
I wonder if any of them even manage to 'walk' more than 40 yards from their cars...

I feel like everywhere you go now there's loads of people compared to even just a few years ago..
Shopping centres are busy even in January. Whereas before lockdown you didn't see a soul in January.
Cars are everywhere. I just feel it's more people in the country along with tik tok and people like to get out now to put it on social media.

Because a great many people now believe that rules don't apply to them for various reasons (usually mental health related) and that their needs outweigh everyone else's.

It's very challenging for people who are considerate of others only to be inconvenienced or put at risk by those who are not

I wondered if it was because there are less people going to pubs Grin

It definitely feels like a current trend, just wish they'd be more conscientious.
