Hello everyone,
as you can imagine as happy as we are myself and partner are in a very big shock.
(wasn’t planned)
we have just found out we are pregnant with our 4th 11 months post pattern with our 3rd.

As grateful as we are, I’m personally struggling with the worry.
all three previous children were delivered via c section and this child will be the same.
as reassuring and comforting the midwife is I still have moments of worry of the thought of my body going through it the 4th time or even the fact being so close from the previous c section.
Is there any mummas out there who have had a c section so close from the last or just had a 4th c section?

thankyou 🙏

Watching with interest op as I'm going for my second section in a few weeks. The reason I'm replying is i had a emergency section last year with my twins , they sadly didn't survive - stillbirth and neonatal death 4 days old (nothing to do with the delivery) it was a high risk twin thing sadly. But i want two more pregnancies after this and likewise I'd be chancing a fourth section too. I would take your midwife seriously though. Have you been seen by a consultant? Did you have good recovery with your other sections? My emergency section though serious and a category 1 was very successful and I recovered very fast to their surprise.

Hiya,
Firstly I’m so sorry for your lost,my thoughts are with you!

But congratulations for this pregnancy, I haven’t seen a consultant as of yet. From previous c section obviously they did say every section becomes more risk.

I rang my midwife hub in quite a bit of shock when I spoke with the midwife on the phone she seems very genuine and comforting in the fact of ‘every pregnancy can be a risk but yourself you will just have to be more kept on eye due to being higher risk with previous sections’
midwife did say there will be an appoitment made to see the consultant. I’ve not long found out so still need my first midwife booking yet.

I think my concern is more just being so close to my previous c section.

sending hugs for your delivery ❤️

I like the fact that they said they will keep an eye on you and you'll probably have extra scans too. I know it's scary though. I hope you can find reassurance with that. But I do get the worry though. There's definitely women who will have done it though. Have you googled a few past threads here.

I was prego again 8 months after a c-section and my care was consultant rather than midwife led but tbh there was no real difference. I had I think 2 extra scans towards the end and had a choice between another section or a vbac but everything else was the same as my first pregnancy.

They had to cut me (forgotten the word, sorry) to widen the vaginal opening and I found that harder to cope with than the section recovery but that might have been because I already had a toddler to care for as well as the baby and myself rather than the healing itself, if that makes a difference.

Hi @Mrs143 - I find myself in your position almost exactly! I'm in shock. Only 4 weeks pregnant and so not ready for another. How did it all go? I'm terrified xx
