To want a second child in this situation?

Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment and feel like it’s making me snappy and stressy. So work has been having constant waves of redundancies, so I’m looking for jobs but the market at the moment is a bit rubbish! I’ve got far down the road with three job interviews and not ended up getting them.

The issue I’m having is that I’d like a second child, I had struggles with fertility and had to go down the IVF route. So I would probably need to do IVF again.

We also would like to move house, but again the market is rubbish!

I feel overwhelmed because I’m struggling to know what order to do things in. I’m 40 this year, so obviously need to think quickly about this. But obviously trying for a baby and a new job in parallel would put me out of mat pay?

Any thoughts welcomed 😣 (wasn’t sure where to put this thread so chose AIBU)

If no money worries go for second child asap.

The only thing you don’t have time to leave is the IVF, so if you want another baby, you have to do that now.

It needs to be your first priority.

Agree with this. If you want another child, then you need to begin IVF.

Job hunting can continue and I hope if you did get made redundant you have been there long enough to receive a decent package.

Why would you need to move house? Would you not be able to make do? I see a lot of threads where people want bigger houses, even if this stretches them financially.

I think you need to reduce your anxiety tbh, these are normal every issues. I'd worry it'll be too much if you had another child.

Stress isn't going to help you conceive or maintain a pregnancy, so first things first is to look at all the issues, decide the important critical items and the items that can wait. Then move on the absolute critical ones.

Money issues? not sure if this is an issue
Job
IVF - time sensitive, critical?
House move - unless your in a 1 bed flat, this feels like a "it can wait" - put it to the back burner and forget about it for now.
