Enjoy the last lie in or get up early in preparation for getting up early?

Back to work on Monday - me and DS have been having some lovely lie ins. DH is a morning person, we're definitely not!

DH thinks we should get up early tomorrow in preparation for getting up early on Monday. DS and I want to wallow in our pits for 1 more morning!

No control or force - just general chit chat about it. Who's right?

I go to bed at 2am but get up at 8am, I couldn't sleep any more than that.

I added up the time over the past 7 years and worked out I'd had close to a year extra of my life vs people who sleep 8 hours 😳

Just get up when you want to. I personally never get up before 9.30 unless I need to. Absolutely cannot bear early mornings!

But routinely sleeping less than 7 hours a night is linked to younger mortality 🤷🏼‍♀️

Id have the lie in but do lots of prep to make first early wake easier. So clothes laid out, cereal on the table, early bath and early night etc.

I am going to go mid way tomorrow (been getting up around 8.30am but usually, my alarm is 5.30am!). That said, it's my dad's birthday party tonight so could be a late one!

To be honest, Monday will be rubbish anyway - getting up early, having to be ready and out of the house by a certain time, the dark morning etc.

I am actually quite looking forward to Monday- I am a teacher and head of dept, Mon is staff only with lots of dept time to focus on curriculum, teaching and learning. I love that side of things so it will be good. Then I will look forward to the kids being back Tue.

It's just going out in the dark and coming home in the dark that gets me, with the possibility of snow to contend with as well (I am rural and on high ground!) But it will be OK.
