Specifics: elf suit and pyjamas with santa on.
They aren't xmas decorations, so are fair game to still wear past this weekend right?

Stop wearing them for a day or two, then start again - that way you're just early for next Christmas

This is the best solution, thanks. Saturday and Sunday night will revert to plain pyjamas, then it's all fair game.

i wear mine all year round
very wasteful imo to only wear at Christmas

SleepyHippy3 · 03/01/2025 13:17

They are just pyjamas, wear them whenever you want?

BelleSauvage9 · 03/01/2025 13:25

I typically feel pretty strongly about no Christmas stuff outside of December/early January. But it is such a waste to only have the kids wearing them for a month (and only a couple of weeks for the brand new ones they got on Christmas Eve!) because they won't fit next year! So am keeping them around until they don't fit, and support you doing so also 👍

It depends where you wear them. In front of the telly or in bed - OK.
On the school run or in Asda - might look like you're too lazy to shower.

Youngest DC wears theirs all year round because I have no other child to pass them on to. Oldest DC has theirs put away for younger DC to wear in the future but has plenty of other pyjamas so isn't bothered. I have a couple of pairs which are a few years old, I will wear those all year and treat myself to a nice new pair for Christmas 2025.

I'm losing weight and found mine too big this year. Generally they do go in the loft with the decorations and come out end of November. This year I'm gonna wear them till they fall down and have to go on VINTED.

Life is too short to only wear Christmas pyjamas and socks at Christmas time. However, I only wear Christmas jumpers in December.

blackbird77 · 03/01/2025 17:18

Most children and adults I know (including myself) wear their Christmas pyjamas all year round. They’re only pyjamas - you’re only wearing them in your own house! Nobody is going to report you to the police!

Great idea! 😂

For sure!

Everydayimhuffling · 03/01/2025 17:22

We wear them all year. It would be a massive waste for the DC to have them for only a few nights before they grow out of them! I specially didn't buy the DC new pyjamas for the 2 months before.

Is this why people are so anti-Christmas pyjamas? They're only wasteful if you choose to waste them!

BotterMon · 03/01/2025 17:22

YABU as Christmas Pyjamas are dreadful. Just why?

Everydayimhuffling · 03/01/2025 17:26

DC1 seems to be committed to wearing her Christmas jumper forevermore too, and DC2 is still wearing his beloved Halloween t-shirt from Halloween 2023. We're pretty loose on seasonal clothing in general in our house. I do put away my own Christmas jumpers though.
