That's it really.

Just for a bit of background - she is a single mum, her daughter is 4. She has not worked since well before her daughter was born.

BonkersHonkers - the op is talking about a friend.

Would you shop a friend?

TotalChaos · 02/05/2008 18:43

For teaching a child to shoplift, I would consider reporting someone, but never in a million years for a TV licence.

NotABanana · 02/05/2008 18:44

She will get found out. Detector vans and all that.

NotABanana · 02/05/2008 18:46

What is your motive for all this, BonkersHonkers?

mysonsmummy · 02/05/2008 21:12

why is it your business to report her. why dont people just mind their own business.

do you speak to her when you see her - all friendly like. in my world thats stabbing someone in the back and 2 faced!

theUrbanNixie · 02/05/2008 21:22

totally agree with mysonsmummy.

leave her be. cut her out of your life if needs be. reporting her is out of order. the child is not in any direct danger (such as being regularly beaten or sexually abused)

i agree that smoking dope in front of children and teaching them how to shoplift are not the best examples - but they are valuable life lessons that may come in useful one day

hmm..having read the entire thread, I don't think pointy is being ironic at all.

I think she's being..erm.. sardonic.

pointydog - do you agree??

and bonkers, no don't "report" her. I'm a bit sceptical about the 'teaching her to shoplift' thing. A nice add-on it seems....

pointydog · 03/05/2008 17:31

I don't know really. Sardonic isn't a word I use. Always thought it meant pretty much the same as ironic.

I don't mind too much what it's called.

flack · 03/05/2008 17:55

Ditto to What dittany -- was spot on.

beaniesteve · 03/05/2008 18:01

Why would you want to report her if she's a friend?
