Hate the central heating, might have to leave dh!

I think the central heating is causing my skin to itch & I can't stand it. To be fair to dh it's not on that high, only about 17 to 18 degrees C. I had bad itching through menopause. My sugar level is normal. Yesterday was awful with the heating on, but we've had no heating on all day & it's been bliss.
I think I'll have to leave my lovely dh, he deserves a warm house

It's probably the dry air. Get a humidifier? I hate ch too, I think that's what it is (but I just make dh do without it, he hides in his office with a fan heater)

I would honestly rather my DH leave me than make me live without central heating, I can’t bear being cold.

I'm with you op. I hate the heating on too. DH loves it.

I'm hoping this is kind of tongue in cheek. However a very quick Google will give you ideas on how to counter the effects, such as , like a pp mentioned, using a humidifier.

Hi OP, I have to dust inside the radiators each autumn once I know DH will want the heating on. This helps a bit. I am also rigorous about hoovering around the rads where there is more dust to come up into the air.

Central heating is terrible for my asthma and excema. Honestly my asthma is fine when it's cold and as soon as the heating has been on a few hours my lungs get tight and I'm on the salbutamol!

Also we have a damp house (literally rising damp, 16th cottage) so it's not the humidity for me.

@ShamblesRock yes tongue on cheek. We also suffer with condensation in the mornings, so he won't consider a humidifier. The only thing he can do is wrap a cosy blanket around him when he's watching tv I guess & I compromise
