On past experience, I knew how hard it was to get on a bus after landing at Dublin airport: 2 or 3 in a row could be full so it could be a six hour wait for a seat. Thinking I was smart, this time I went online and paid for a seat in advance (I got the second-last available seat, the website said). Just as I was collecting my bag in arrivals, my boss called to say a colleague had been in a car accident and lost her life. We're a small team of 12 so this was a huge shock and as I got outside where it was pelting down with rain, I just wanted to get to my destination. At that time about 15 people were waiting but it increased to about 60 by the time the bus came. People muscled on until it was packed and the driver had to remove some. He removed a group of the elderly and infirm who were standing inside. I couldn't believe that none of the young and strong (including a team of football players) wouldn't give up a seat. I have given up my place in the past but this time, due to the bereavement, I decided I deserved to stay on the bus. The driver said it was fullwhich everyone could seebut I showed him my prepaid ticket for my seat. He pretended it wouldn't scan and was very intimidating about getting me off again. The crowd on the bus laughed and cheered when he basically pushed me off. That left me and about 10 elderly people waiting in the pouring rain. I went to find a supervisor but there was no one on duty for that company, even in daylight hours. The company ignored all emails about this. Somehow I want to expose them for this horrible treatment of innocent human beings, but I don't know how. Are my feelings justified?
