Do I need to go to hospital?

I have had back pain come on quite quickly this afternoon. I am 7 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding if that is relevant. It feels like squeezing pain in my mid back, and I feel quite sick too. No position relieves it and it is as bad sitting still as it is with movement. I have never felt pain quite like this before. Could a trapped nerve come on so fast?

I am only in my 20s but scared it could be cardiac

Should I get checked?

Ring 111 and take their advice - better to get it checked. I had trapped wind after 3rd (big) baby and it really was agony but it was abdominal and not in my back. I would definitely seek medical help if I were you.

Could be anything, including v dangerous things. Eg aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism (which is a big risk post-partum)... Go to hospital. Get checked out.

Go to A&E, you have a young baby that depends on you. I'd 10000000% rather have them tell me it's wind than not go and it be important like your spine or cardiac or infection.

I think you should get checked. You might have an infection or something.

Update, thank you everyone. Weirdly vomiting started only several hours after and really severe stomach cramps. I think it must have been food poisoning. Managed at home of course but not pleasant

Thanks for updating.
Stomach bugs are the absolute worst .
Restore your electrolyte balance with something like dioralyte . Or mix up your own solution.
ORS is an incredibly simple recipe.
8 Teaspoons of Sugar [Or glucose powder]
½ Teaspoon of Salt
1 Litre of Water. Instructions: Mix. Drink.
ORS can also be made up according to whatever units, bottle size, or
quantity is convenient for you.
As you can see it is cheap and uses ingredients that are almost always
available.
You can add a cup of orange juice or a banana [mashed up if you like] to
the ORS to give it more flavour and make it palatable
