High serum ALT but low serum total Protein

Hi, i was hoping there would be someone on here who could shed some light on my blood tests. I'm 31f I have Crohns and I recently have had my check up bloods, I had one lot in October and my serum ALT came back as 64, they repeated it again on 12th December and it was 112. I have then had more blood tests today and my serum alt is now 123 and my serum total protein is 64 which is low. What could this mean? I'm waiting to hear back from IBD nurse but the wait and unknown is making me worry!
I've been goggling which i know I shouldn't but some things saying liver disease, some say liver damage, then it also mentions gallstones/gallbladder.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
Thank you!

On blood tests to do with the liver, the ALT and Billy rubin are the important two.

Ny late husband had NAFLD (None-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), so I know these areas very well.

Those two numbers are the ones to watch. As your ALT is creeping up, that is concerning. However, it could be one of many things.

If you're not a drinker, you need to make that clear to them as a lot of the time, the medical profession just presume it is to do with drinking without even checking with the person

Could be anything. Main culprits are alcohol, infection, medication (antibiotics/paracetamol included), fatty liver. Wait for your IBD team or speak to your GP re cause. They can do extended liver screen and scan to clarify cause.

ALT can also increase after exercise, even from going to the gym the day before and doing weights so I’ve heard.

@keffie12 thank you for thr reply! My Bilirubin is in normal range which is good it's just my ALT, total Protein and I've just looked again and my transferrin % is low to but not hugely. I'm not a drinker at all so it can't be that. I'm going to call my IBD nurse tomorrow to try and speak to them.
Thank you @Ireolu and @Takeoutyourhen for replying to. I'll hopefully hear something soon. Is fatty liver something that can be reversed?

@TiredTiredmum1223 If it's non alcoholic fatty liver, it can't be reversed. However, it can be stopped getting worse. Stage 1, if that's what it is, is perfectly manageable, and a normal length life can be lived.

People think NAFLD can be reversed. It can't be. Those that have caused harm by alcoholic it can be reversed, but it depends on how far it's gone

Cirrhosis can't be undone, but it doesn't mean imminent death.

There are many stages and variables
