I know my house fronts on to a road, but FGD! My own home and a 3 week old! [angry}

You cannot be serious! Do you mean they were peering into your front window to gawp at you?

lackaDAISYcal · 01/05/2008 21:48
Shock
S1ur · 01/05/2008 21:49

Good grief that's crap.
Perhaps you should charge? You could put up a sign...

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 01/05/2008 21:49

3 so far, all old ladies (lots around this way).

How very bonkers. Could you keep paper & a pen next to you to write rude notes to them. Or a large 'eff orf' placard?

snowleopard · 01/05/2008 21:50

You need a large sign on a stick, ready to hold up. One that says "F*CK OFF!"

I once sat bfin DS at a similar age, on my own, in a lovely relaxed bck-to-nature kind of a way until after about 15 mins I looked up and noticed a teenage boy in the upstairs window of a house opposite, absolutely goggled-eyed and gawping at my vast motherly nork.

yehudiwho · 01/05/2008 21:51

I remember doing this when ds was wee- I felt self conscious to start with - but then you do dont you, after a bit I didnt care and I think they are only nosing into house without net curtains- i do when i walk past. I dont think you can tell if they disapprove unless they cone back to point a finger!

snowleopard · 01/05/2008 21:51

x-posted with the sign! It's obviously the way forward peachy!

moondog · 01/05/2008 21:51

Oh peachy are you sure it is not the hormones making yuo twitchy and paranoid?

pinkyminky · 01/05/2008 21:53

I live on a terraced cul-de sac. DH discovered one of the neighbours (male) staring right in at me in the lounge from his bedroom window. Still makes me shudder a bit. It is a rented house and he's gone now. But YANBU

funnypeculiar · 01/05/2008 21:53

snowleopard - there's clearly a need. We should go into production & flog 'em on ebay.

Janni · 01/05/2008 21:53

the old ladies might be feeling wistful rather than disapproving. I found myself staring at a young woman breastfeeding the other day, simply because it brought back a flood of memories. I hope she didn't think I was disapproving!

pointydog · 01/05/2008 21:54

I'd have a peer into a house on the pavement with clear windows. Probably just general nosiness rather than intimidation of breastfeeders.

pinkyminky · 01/05/2008 21:54

OMG- xposts, snow leopard- I share your or !

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 01/05/2008 21:57

nbot hormones lol- last one was so dumbstruck that DH ahd time to point her out and the daft baggae was still there LOL!

It's probably good as I was very [bush] about BF in public but the infringement in my home is making me feel I want to go and BF outside the local Retired Citizens Club (its that kinda village... ) just to stress them.

OP posts:
pointydog · 01/05/2008 21:58

please don;t bush in public

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 02/05/2008 09:22

Surelya s long as its done discreetly

DH says he's making a sign out of light bulbs saying 'Yes my wife has tits, get over it' controlled by a switch on th4e sofa for me to hit.

(will go nicely with the 'stop wanking' one he swears he's installing in the boys rooms.....)

Trust me, she was shocked.

However, this is uber conservative, touristy village so I shouldn't really be surprised.

maybe next time I shall put some clothes on before I go feed...

(that was a joke btw! no naked window shows here, neighbours would throw up!)

Net curtains. Definitely.

beaniesteve · 02/05/2008 11:07

There's a woman in my street who scowls at me every time I look into her window. Is it you?

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 02/05/2008 11:58

very possible beanie

Are you about 70?

OP posts:
girlfrommars · 02/05/2008 12:04

I remember, on a thread a while ago, someone couldn't understand why their neighbour kept her curtains shut.

Now we know!

I'd go for nets/blinds.

youngbutnotdumb · 02/05/2008 12:12

Just move LO and gve them a proper eyeful
Give them the shock of their lives bet they dont look again LOL
