DH and the 3 hour nap

AIBU to be absolutely fuming (lighthearted) at DH for coming home from work today then taking a 3 hour (so far) nap. 4 DC under 5 wondering when he's joining us for Christmas. Just me then!

Woke him after an hour, he said he would be down in a minute....

If he didn’t come down straight away, either wake him again yourself or send the children.

Mines asleep too but in his defence he did drive us 250 miles last night and then had to be in work for 9am.

I don't think this is particularly lighthearted tbh, he's taking the piss.

Very selfish man

Sunshineclouds11 · 24/12/2024 17:42

I'd be livid

Gcsunnyside23 · 24/12/2024 17:43

I'd already be up there loudly banging stuff

Yeah, I don't get threads like this. Why would you just be fuming and posting on MN about it? Just go get him up if needed? Don't get what the big deal is.

feathermucker · 24/12/2024 17:54

Tell me you sent the kids in by now at least!!!!!!

Mine too. He was up at 5:30 for work, physical hospital job and children are older 10 & 14. But I've been running round doing all the prep and cleaning today and he fucked off for a nice long nap! He's just appeared for dinner.

He's not usually so thoughtless and we're a team. I think maybe struggling as it's out second Xmas without his mum.

I'm hoping at least if he's had a nap he'll be refreshed and ready for Santa duties later, which is basically the middle of the night with older kids!

Endofyear · 24/12/2024 23:22

I'd have sent the children in to jump on him after an hour! Then I'd say, I've just got to nip out now so you're in charge of the kids and take myself off to Costa for an hour for a hot chocolate and cheese toasties 😁

Is it lighthearted or not? Are you angry? Why post? Does he have form for this?
