What would you ask Santa for as an adult?

This year has been a bit of a one for me and I realised that my parents who I adore will not be here forever - I mean I knew that in a hypothetical way, but this year it feels real for the first time. I’m both sad and scared and worried by this prospect. If I could ask want for anything it would be to take this realisation away and just return me to my state of blissful ignorance. So lovely people what would you ask Santa for this year ?

For my legs to work properly again.
And for Dh to stop being a grumpy git.

Notmanyleftnow · 22/12/2024 21:24

To cure my mum's cancer, and, if not, to allow her to slip away overnight in a state of bliss, rather than prolong her suffering in hospital on end of life care, unable to walk and struggling to speak.

Long life, health and happiness for myself and my family aside, I'd really like new windows. Proper wooden sash windows with squares and black monkey tail handles.

Retirement (I'm 44)
I just can't stand work.

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 22/12/2024 21:31

Sleep!

And a million pounds of course.

AutoP1lot · 22/12/2024 21:32

To not have incurable cancer.
Failing that, I'd love a trip to visit family in Australia.
Realistically, I'm hoping for new boots & a record player 😊

For my son and his ex-wife to rediscover the love they once had. They co-parent brilliantly as divorce parents. They get on for the main part and the children have adjusted. This time of year I miss the happiness their dynamic brought to the family group.

Before they left today they were speaking about ‘Christmas arrangements’ and wanted to cry. I know it will never happen. There was no-one else involved but they were unable to resolve their differences.

So much of what people have posted is built on love. 🥰

This will be my 6th Christmas without either of my parents , I would ask Santa for an evening with them ...and sleep. Having kids seemed to destroy my ability for sleep, 6 years of being woken by kids, then I went through a period of anxiety/panic waking me up...now I just seem to wake for no reason!

...and a thinner waist!

To know if I’m ever going to have a baby, just so this endless cycle of trying and hoping could be over.
I feel stuck right where I am at the moment, can’t stop because I’ll always think what if we tried one more time but so utterly destroyed physically and emotionally. If I knew at least then I would know and could deal with that.

All of the above, Aka peace for all. Blessed be x

leia24 · 22/12/2024 22:05

I'd really like santa to bring me a shopping spree at zara, I need new clothes

MumChp · 22/12/2024 22:05

Less pain.

My own family.

Enough money to get rid of my ex out of my life and to keep my home for myself and my children

Pebbles16 · 22/12/2024 22:12

A job - because he might get that I am not 'past it' in my mid 50s - unlike the bloody workforce

Bloom15 · 22/12/2024 22:12

Bring my dad back 💔

Hskatkat · 23/12/2024 00:24

Good health

Caffeineismydrug35 · 23/12/2024 00:31
  1. To have my dad back, life was so much easier and nicer when he was here.
  2. To be able to afford private healthcare for the life changing condition that I haven’t had time to deal with because instead I’ve been working myself into the ground.
  3. A week to sleep.
  4. A house I own.
It’s not much right?! 🙈
9999problems · 23/12/2024 00:37

For my parents to pass away peacefully before their advanced dementia robs them further of their last shreds of dignity and independence.

TicTac80 · 23/12/2024 00:56

My parents and grandparents back, I miss them very much.
Enough money for decent deposit and to be able to comfortably afford a mortgage (or have a house that I own outright). Enough money to enable me to work part time.
To get back down to my pre-children weight and fitness levels. I need to lose about 20kg.
