Mum being asleep when I arrive

I don't see my mum that much because she lives really far away but she is staying in an air b and b over Christmas (I live in a tiny one bed so she can't stay with me unfortunately)
My mum has napped every day since we were kids.
I arrange to go and see her today, spoke at 9am this morning and arranged for me to arrive at 3pm and I get a message saying she will be asleep and can I let myself in.
AIBU to be a bit upset by this? I'm feeling crap today anyway and wouldn't you just make sure that if you invited people over you would be awake? She doesn't work or have any dependents or anything so can sleep any time.

I want a nap.

I had no idea so many adults had naps during the day! I only need 5-6 hours at the most and always have done, but it must be difficult because much of the world isn’t really set up for that schedule, even in hot countries they generally only have afternoon naps during the hottest part of the year.

I agree it’s quite rude for her to tell you to come at a time when she’ll be asleep. If she must sleep during the day then she could sleep earlier, surely? How does she manage a work day, or does she work somewhere where they have nap facilities? (I know some offices do)

You know she naps every day yet decided to arrive during nap time. What did you expect. Her body is clearly used to this pattern and needs it.

She doesn't nap at the same time every day. It was only when I was on the way she said let yourself in.

when you’ve got to nap you’ve got to nap.

This is properly weird. I don't know a single adult human IRL who takes actual naps (as opposed to the occasional falling asleep watching tv after a big lunch). My 83 year old father sometimes snoozes watching TV and we set the little grandkids up in there with him so they can have baby naps together.

How do these adult nappers earn a living?! I'd love to tell my class to sort themselves out, I'm off for a nap 🤣
