I did not expect ice skating in London to be so expensive

AIBU? Thinking we might take the kids into London and go ice skating. £77 for a family ticket at Battersea. WTF? That's extortionate.

Westfield shopping centre in White City has an ice rink for £52 for a family of four. Penguins for the DC are £5 each.

I agree that entrance fees to Christmassy outings with the family are so expensive these days and why we don't go often 😔

£48.00 here in Sunny Bournemouth. About a 2 hr drive from London.family ticket .Brisk walk on the beach included!

£15 pp here (Cheltenham). I've just booked ds and his mate in tomorrow, at least now he's a teen I don't have to go anymore! 👍

Somerset House is better and cheaper than Battersea, or go to a normal ice rink eg Ally Pally or Streatham

Outdoor ice skating is awful in this country. Sloppy and slushy.
If you want to skate, go to a proper ice rink.

Streatham ice rink is £10 each for 60 minutes on a big indoor rink with actual ice.

A word of warning to those with wide feet AND high instep/raised arches AND fat ankles - your feet may not fit into the clamp on style of boots in order to skate safely(I was fine when they were all lace up style in years gone by), they wanted me in 3 sizes bigger boots which didn't do up either and flopped about on my feet even with inserts, and were a trip hazard, you will then find these firms staff ARE NOT ABLE TO REFUND YOU as by the time you have clocked nothing will fit you, 1/3 your session has expired.

Another vote for Streatham ice rink, it's not that much further out than Battersea
