So, bit of a strange one. I have been to the dentist for a replacement filling, dentist filled tooth with silver instead of white that I asked for (and paid for!)I rang to explain then went back to the practice as soon as I noticed and asked what was going on, she then points to an entirely different tooth (which I'm not even sure has any fillings) and said oh no it was that one I filled, I filled it white and it had a white filling replaced, not silver replaced with silver. Now, I'm not a moron so know which tooth she did as I had seen the x-rays of the tooth (in position in my mouth) on my last visit, so knew which was being done. Also it's two teeth back from the one she pointed at, totally different position in my mouth which I would be able to feel her working on. Also on the phone when I rang to ask about it she told me which one it was she had done, but after trying to point it out in the mirror and realising oh yes it was silver, she said she had forgotten I had a molar (???) so it was actually this white one she was pointing at. The difference in price is about £100, but that's not my issue- my issue is a medical professional lying to me!!!
Will my dental records tell the true picture of what has happened if I request them? Either she has fixed a tooth we did not discuss and has left the dodgy silver filling that we had discussed needing replaced, or she has replaced silver with silver by mistake and rather than admit a small mistake has lied about it. Neither are good really. Any dentists able to tell me how to approach this? 🥺
