Both houses on either side are being renovated by the same builder and in the last week they have parked on our drive many times without even asking.

Last week one of the cars leaked oil onto our drive and DH made them clean it up.

The car's there now and its pissing me off, should i go and say something or wait for DH to come home later and talk to builders and owner, im such a wimp and hate confrontations.

Tell them to get off. They have no business parking on your property.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/05/2008 12:52

Cheeky bastards, tell them politely to go and park somewhere else. I would also mention it to the owner of the properties when you see them next.

mumblechum · 01/05/2008 12:53

Def. tell them to get orf your land.
This happened to me once and I stuck a snotty sign on the windscreen. They moved it then knocked on the door and apologised.

bearmama · 01/05/2008 12:57

Heck no, I wouldnt hesitate. Get 'em told!

scottishmummy · 01/05/2008 12:57

was just gearing up to tell em but they moved the car.

Parking on our road is restricted during day but there is a pay and display bay opposite but wont use it, they obviously know im a soft touch and just park on drive when they see the traffic wardens coming, cheeky feckers.

Im all mouth no action me, must get tough.

oh good.no argy bargy then

Hecate · 01/05/2008 21:31

Do you not have a gate you can close? Or get a chain and padlock it across, so there's a physical barrier? I know you shouldn't have to, but it would pass a message.

shouldbeworking · 01/05/2008 21:50

Our neighbour's once used the flat roof of our bathroom extension to pile up the roof tiles on when they were having a new roof. We woke up one Saturday morning to two great fat builders climbing all over the roof. Dh took photos of them and told them they would be getting the bill for any damage....well maybe not quite that politely but I'm sure they got the message!!

Heated · 01/05/2008 21:56

Have a 'word' with builders and neighbours
Put note on windowscreen
Block drive with wheelie bin
Phone community police
Put for sale sign on their van
Practice deploying a stinger

slim22 · 01/05/2008 21:59

have it clamped

shouldbeworking · 01/05/2008 22:04

Yes slim22 but don't forget the tiny, completely unreadable sign to point to when they complain about being clamped!!!

motherhoodrocks · 01/05/2008 22:24

Our drive has no gates or posts hecate but see what you mean about physical barrier.
We wouldn't mind so much if they ask for permission but they dont.

Love your suggestions heated, if only i had the guts.

Anyway DH is definately going to speak to them tomorrow, they had left by the time he got back, he doesn't take any crap.

He said if only I could be as gobby with them as I am with him .

cheeky bastards. don't feel bad, it is your driveway. how would you feel to find them sitting in your garden? there is no difference, at all.
