Falcon or range master cooker?

Persimmons123 · 18/12/2024 15:54

If you have a falcon or a range master would you tell me whether you rate it and what you like about them?
I need to change mine and have settled on those two, I think…
I have about 90cm width so it should work. Whilst I’d like to save money and buy oven/microwave/gas rings separately, I don’t think I want to have to go through all that. A range cooker seems like a better option. (I know, there’s no microwave in them)

thank you!

I have the Rangemaster Kitchener 90cm dual fuel and I have a few very minor niggles with it - the two ovens are just a tiny bit too narrow, the grill is a tiny bit too shallow if you use the grill pan on the higher bars or too deep if you put the pan on the floor of the grill, and the bars on top are heavy when you take them off to clean the hob. It feels like they took the 100cm's design, and then shrank it by 5cm each side so the two ovens are just a tiny bit too snug.

That being said, it's an absolute bomb-proof workhorse - we didn't choose it, it was here when we moved in so it must be at least 17 years old by now and it's good for another 17 at least (and I do a LOT of cooking). It particuarly shines when you're cooking something like a roast with the joint and roasties in the main oven and all the sides in the narrow tall oven. It heats up quickly and evenly and the operation is idiot proof, just turn the knob, no buttons or screens or dials or digital numbers.

I have no experience with a Falcon but I think they're made by the same company and are the more premium range.

(A friend has a Smeg oven which is stupidly complicated with multiple dials and screens and then the computer in it died anyway so the whole thing had to be replaced - so I wouldn't recommend that one!!)

I have a Rangemaster Professional Deluxe 110i and love it.

Very interesting about the Kitchener, than you for all those details, I find the information on the websites not enough to make a good choice and with children and work and life I don’t have lots of time to go check all the options!

We have a Rangemaster Professional +. We’ve had it 15 years and other than we’ve replaced a door lock it’s been great. The double oven is a God send (especially at Christmas)

Yes! I might as well get the double oven if I have to spend all that money!!

We’ve got a Rangemaster and never had a problem and it’s at least 15 years old

I've had my Falcon for nearly 20 years. The doors are very heavy, there is a satisfying clunk. It looks as good now as the day I bought it. Cooks like a dream and apart from a new element in the grill nothing has gone wrong with it.

I've got this Falcon...https://www.rangemaster.co.uk/products/falcon-range-cooker/falcon-deluxe/3598 it's all electric induction and I'm so pleased with it. We also have the matching hood. The ovens heat very quickly, the grill pan is so solid and well made - the only slightly negative comment is that I miss having a glass door to check on things. Had ours about 7 years so it's fairly well used!

Oh god, I have checked on both ringmasters and falcons and they are all 6-10 weeks to deliver.
