Anyone tried the Philips lumea?

Hi!

just wondered if anyone has the Philips lumea lpl device and could advice if it’s worth it or not? It’s on sale right now for £300 and I’m very tempted to buy it but just not sure if it’s worth it or if the results are not as good as it makes out. I unfortunately have very dark, course, dense facial and body hair and am fed up having to shave so often to keep on top of it. Considered laser treatment but it’s so expensive whereas I figured I could use the Philips lumea on my entire body and it would work out cheaper but just not sure if it’s really worth it or not?

TIA!

Jumping on to ask, does it hurt at all?

I have a different device, also IPL. It’s nicknamed blaster in our house. It’s fantastic, works and after the initial treatment once a week, you’d only need a maintenance round once a month or so. My skin is very pale and hair is dark blonde so there’s contrast but not a lot.

I only wish I had one when I was younger, it's brilliant. I also have the classic pale skin/dark hair combo.

Yep love it. Best thing I've ever bought. Wish it had been invented when I was younger and very hairy.

I have dark hair and pale skin. I use it on legs, bikini, armpits, upper lip and toes. It has been very effective and didn't hurt other than a few feelings of having an elastic band snapped on me in the first few armpit treatments.

It has been liberating. I used to get scratchy leg stubble within 24 hours, re-growth rashes on bikini line, waxing gave me rashes. I love swimming and now I can go when I feel like it without having to plan hair removal in advance.

It is the best £300 I have spent on myself.

Not it you use the levels correctly. Too high and it feels like you're being flicked with a rubber band. So you knock it down one until it's comfortable. It takes longer the lower the setting but it's comfortable so a trade off I can live with.

I wanted one but you have to leave a clear border around moles and freckles and my legs are covered in them 😞

People that have used it on the upper lip what happens if you have a mixture of fuzz and a few darker hairs? I have just been plucking the dark ones but am tempted to shave all the then try my ipl on it but if I do this will the fuzzy ones grow back darker but not be got by the ipl?
